Librarian - Abu Dhabi, UAE


We are seeking a highly organized and passionate Librarian to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, providing reference services to patrons, and promoting literacy and learning within the community.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize library materials, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding
- Assist patrons with reference inquiries and research needs
- Develop and implement library programs and services to promote literacy and learning
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute library events and activities
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in the field of librarianship
- Assist with budgeting for library resources
- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working in a library setting preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in cataloging systems, database management, and other library technologies
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed

Salary:
This is a contract position offering a salary of $1600 per month.

This job is suitable for male candidates without prior experience. We welcome applicants from India or Nepal who are fluent in English.
