Librarian

We are hiring a qualified Librarian to manage and maintain our library in Al-Khor. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for organizing and cataloging books, assisting patrons with research and finding materials, and overseeing the general operations of the library. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of library systems and technology, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting literacy and learning. This is a contract position with a salary of 1500$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and catalog books, periodicals, and other materials using proper classification systems
- Assist patrons with finding materials and conducting research
- Maintain the library's physical space, ensuring it is clean and organized
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and reading within the community
- Manage the library's budget, including purchasing new materials as needed
- Train volunteers or assistants on library procedures
- Stay up-to-date on new technology related to libraries and implement it as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Proven experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of library systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
- Familiarity with biometric passport technology is desired but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for promoting literacy and learning within the community
