Librarian for English-speaking Library in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait


We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our dynamic team at our English-speaking library in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our library's collection of books, digital resources, and other materials. Your duties will include cataloging and classifying new materials, assisting patrons with finding resources, and promoting library services to the community.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the acquisition, cataloging, and classification of all materials in the library
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures in accordance with international standards
- Assist patrons with finding resources and provide recommendations based on their needs
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure the accuracy of the library's collection
- Promote library services through outreach programs and events
- Stay updated on new trends and developments in the field of librarianship

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian in an English-speaking environment
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and online databases
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse team

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1600$ per month for this full-time position.

Location:
This position is located in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait.
