Librarian


As a Librarian in our library located in Al Ahmadi, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining our collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. Your main goal will be to provide the best possible service to our patrons by assisting them in finding the information they need and promoting a love for reading.

Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog and classify books, periodicals, and other materials using standard library procedures
- Help patrons find information by using reference materials, search engines, and online databases
- Assist with circulation tasks such as checking out books, issuing library cards, and collecting fines
- Organize library programs and events to promote literacy and love for reading
- Collaborate with schools and other organizations to coordinate outreach programs
- Maintain the library's physical space by shelving books, keeping shelves organized, and ensuring a clean environment
- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies
- Keep track of inventory levels and order new materials when needed
- Handle administrative tasks such as record keeping, budget management, and creating reports

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Familiarity with online databases and search engines used for research purposes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
