Reference Librarian (English-speaking) - Hawalli, Kuwait


We are hiring a Reference Librarian for our library in Hawalli, Kuwait. As the Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting patrons with their research needs and providing reference services. This role requires strong English language skills and knowledge of library resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with finding and accessing resources for research purposes
- Provide reference services through in-person interactions, email, and phone calls
- Develop and maintain an understanding of library resources and collections
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop and promote library programs and services
- Train and assist patrons in using technology to access information
- Keep accurate records of reference transactions and statistics
- Stay informed about current trends in library services and implement new strategies as needed

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of library resources, databases, and technology
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Good organization skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a librarian or in a customer service role
- Familiarity with Arabic language is a plus
- Experience developing or promoting library programs

Salary:
This position offers a competitive salary of 900$ per month.

The position is located in Hawalli, Kuwait.
