Sous Chef - Mecca, Saudi Arabia


We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. As a member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the head chef in overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations. Your main duties will include preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, managing inventory and supplies, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and training and supervising kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the head chef in creating menus that reflect seasonal availability and meet quality standards
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee food preparation, portion control, garnishing courses, and maintaining proper serving temperatures
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen equipment operation
- Ensure all workstations are clean and sanitized before, during, and after service periods
- Monitor inventory levels of food ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient use of resources
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients at competitive prices
- Strictly adhere to food safety regulations at all times to maintain a clean and safe working environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment usage, health codes, food safety regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Strong communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays

Salary: $1400 per month (tax-free)
