Librarian (Female)


A reputable library in Muscat is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Malayalam and familiar with the local culture, as this position requires interaction with members of the Malayalee community. This is a full-time position, open to women only.

Responsibilities:
- Catalog and classify library materials using the Dewey Decimal System
- Assist patrons in finding and accessing materials
- Develop and maintain an organized system for checking out and returning items
- Create engaging displays and activities to promote library services
- Participate in collection development by selecting new materials for acquisition
- Manage budget for purchasing new materials
- Maintain accurate records of library inventory, circulation, and patron information
- Train and supervise library assistants

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Proficiency in Malayalam language
- Knowledge of library cataloging systems, such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: $900 per month

Location: Muscat, Oman
