Librarian - Khasab, Oman


We are seeking an experienced Librarian to join our library in the beautiful city of Khasab, Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, periodicals and other materials. Your main duties will include cataloging and classifying books, maintaining digital databases, organizing library events and assisting patrons with their research needs. Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, periodicals and other materials
- Catalog and classify books using the Dewey Decimal System
- Maintain digital databases of library materials
- Organize library events such as book clubs, storytimes and author visits
- Assist patrons with their research needs
- Promote literacy and learning within the community
- Keep up-to-date with new literature and resources in order to provide recommendations to patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Librarian
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in order to assist patrons with their research needs
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
- Experience working with digital databases and online resources
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
