Indian Executive Chef
As an Indian Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations at our restaurant in Al Buraymi. Your main duties will include creating and updating menus, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented according to high standards.
To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience as a chef, particularly in Indian cuisine. You should also possess strong leadership skills and be able to effectively manage a team. As our restaurant caters to primarily Indian clientele, fluency in Hindi or other Indian languages would be an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback
- Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Oversee the preparation of all dishes to ensure quality and consistency
- Train new kitchen employees on cooking techniques and food safety procedures
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop strategies for increasing profitability
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication skills in Hindi or other Indian languages (preferred)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with cost control principles and inventory management
- Degree or certification in culinary arts is a plus
