Pastry Chef - Clairvaux, France
A renowned hotel in the beautiful city of Clairvaux, France is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious desserts and pastries for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake various types of pastries, including cakes, cookies, tarts, and breads
- Create new and innovative dessert recipes that appeal to our guests
- Decorate pastries using different techniques such as piping, glazing, and fondant work
- Monitor inventory levels and order ingredients as needed
- Ensure all food safety standards are met
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Collaborate with other chefs to create menu items that complement each other
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience working as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, flavor combinations, and pastry trends
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thinking skills with the ability to constantly come up with new dessert ideas
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor others
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on food presentation
- Knowledge of health codes and regulations
Education:
A formal education in culinary arts or pastry making is preferred but not required. On-the-job training or apprenticeships will also be considered.
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1300$ per month for this position. Salary may vary based on experience level.
