Librarian Assistant


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Librarian Assistant to join our team in Wiltz. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the librarian in managing library resources and providing support to library patrons. This is an entry-level position, perfect for those looking to gain experience in the field of librarianship.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the librarian in maintaining and organizing library materials
- Process new library materials, including cataloging and shelving
- Help patrons locate materials and answer inquiries
- Collect fines and fees for overdue or lost items
- Maintain the physical appearance of the library, including shelving and cleaning
- Assist with planning and promoting library programs and events
- Create displays to showcase new books or special collections
- Keep records of circulation statistics and inventory levels
- Provide basic technology assistance to patrons, such as helping them use computers or databases

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with diverse populations
- Basic knowledge of library systems and procedures preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1100 per month.
