A reputable library in Nairobi is seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting the use of library resources and services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a passion for literature and learning, and the ability to work well in a team environment. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1000$ per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by selecting, acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining materials
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries by providing guidance on how to use library resources effectively
- Promote the use of library resources and services through outreach activities such as book clubs, workshops, and events
- Maintain accurate records of library materials, patron accounts, and circulation statistics
- Train other staff members on using library systems and resources
- Keep up-to-date with new trends in librarianship and implement them where appropriate
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop programs that meet the needs of diverse communities

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Experience working in a library setting preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of other languages is an asset)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of information management systems such as MARC records or Dewey Decimal Classification System
- Familiarity with digital resources such as online databases and e-books
