Contract Librarian for Pakistani Nationals in Nairobi
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Librarian to join our team in Nairobi. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, assisting patrons with research needs, and maintaining the library's physical and digital resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a librarian
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in computer systems and library databases
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's physical collection by shelving, cataloging, and reshelving books
- Maintain the library's digital resources by updating online databases and electronic resources
- Assist patrons with research needs by providing reference services and helping them locate materials
- Develop and implement programs to promote the use of the library among different community groups
- Keep records of library usage statistics for reporting purposes
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan and execute events such as book clubs, author talks, or workshops
This is a contract position with a salary of 1700$ per month. Pakistani nationals are preferred for this position. No English proficiency is required as this position does not involve any public facing duties.
