Junior Pastry Chef

Our busy bakery in Washington is seeking a skilled and creative Junior Pastry Chef to join our talented team. As a Junior Pastry Chef, you will assist our Head Pastry Chef in preparing and creating a variety of delicious pastries, cakes, and desserts for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for baking and a desire to learn from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef in preparing and baking various pastries, cakes, and desserts
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need to be replenished
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and tools
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations
- Contribute new ideas for menu items based on seasonal availability of ingredients
- Adhere to food safety standards at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or assistant pastry chef
- Knowledge of different types of pastries, cakes, and desserts
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
- Ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills
- Creativity in designing new menu items
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Diploma or degree in culinary arts or relevant field

Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)

City: Washington DC, USA
