Preservation Architect for Historical Sites in Los Angeles, USA
We are seeking a qualified Preservation Architect to join our team and assist in the preservation and restoration of historical sites in Los Angeles, USA. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for conducting site surveys, analyzing architectural plans and drawings, and developing preservation strategies for designated historical sites. You will also be expected to work closely with local government agencies and community stakeholders to ensure that all preservation work is carried out in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in preservation architecture or historic preservation
- Extensive knowledge of historical building materials, construction techniques, and preservation methods
- Familiarity with local building codes and historic preservation guidelines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys and assess the condition of historical buildings
- Develop comprehensive preservation plans that address structural issues, deterioration, and long-term maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop restoration plans that meet the standards of local authorities
- Prepare detailed reports outlining proposed restoration work and estimated costs
- Liaise with government agencies and community stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals for restoration projects
- Monitor ongoing restoration work to ensure compliance with approved plans
- Provide guidance on appropriate materials, techniques, and methods for restoring historical buildings
