Chef de Cuisine
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Mombasa. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is consistently delivered to our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and creating unique dishes, as well as strong leadership skills to manage and motivate our kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create new and exciting dishes while maintaining consistency with our menu
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other employees
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Order supplies and maintain inventory levels
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide exceptional dining experiences for guests
- Monitor food costs and make adjustments to maintain profitability
- Develop relationships with local suppliers to source the best ingredients possible
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of different cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to create innovative dishes while maintaining consistency with existing menu items
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage kitchen staff effectively
- Excellent time management skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for food and cooking with a creative mindset
- Knowledge of food cost control methods to ensure profitability without compromising quality
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
Salary: 1200$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
City: Mombasa (Malayalee community preferred)
