Head Baker - Mombasa, Kenya
As the Head Baker, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery in Mombasa, Kenya. You will lead a team of bakers and ensure that all baked goods are prepared to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in baking techniques and recipes will be utilized to develop new products and improve existing ones. You will also have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and ensuring that our bakery meets or exceeds sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team of bakers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Create and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of baked goods
- Develop new recipes and products based on market trends and customer demands
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary ingredients and supplies
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and are presented beautifully
- Oversee pricing strategies to maximize profits while remaining competitive in the market
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a baker or head baker in a busy bakery setting
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, tools, and equipment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique recipes and products
- Strong understanding of food safety guidelines and regulations
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (additional languages are an asset)
- Must be willing to work full-time with flexible hours as needed
