Machinist/ Turner - Mombasa, Kenya



We are currently hiring a highly skilled and experienced Machinist/ Turner to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Machinist/ Turner, you will be responsible for operating various machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision parts according to specifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various machines to perform machining operations on metal workpieces
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and materials required
- Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet specifications
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
- Make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality control standards
- Maintain accurate records of production quantities and times
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Machinist/ Turner in a manufacturing setting
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of machining processes and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Proficient in the use of measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well in a team setting
- Willingness to work flexible hours when needed
