Debt Collection Agent


We are seeking a motivated and experienced Debt Collection Agent to join our team in Eldoret. As a Debt Collection Agent, you will be responsible for contacting individuals and businesses who owe money and collecting payments, while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong negotiation abilities, and the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in debt collection, knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, and be fluent in English.

Responsibilities:
- Contact individuals and businesses to collect outstanding debts
- Negotiate payment plans with debtors
- Monitor payment arrangements and follow up on missed payments
- Maintain accurate records of all communication with debtors
- Update account information and payment status in the system
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection
- Provide regular reports on collection activities to management

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training is a plus
- Proven experience as a Debt Collection Agent or similar role
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection (e.g. FDCPA)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain professional and empathetic at all times
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle difficult situations with tact
- Ability to work independently and meet targets/deadlines
- Proficient in using computer systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1700$ per month, along with performance bonuses based on meeting collection targets.
