Head Chef
We are searching for an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team in Malindi, Kenya. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking and be able to lead a team of chefs in creating delicious and visually appealing dishes. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and creating new menu items. You should also have strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create menus that meet quality standards while staying within budget
- Train and manage kitchen staff
- Oversee inventory levels and order supplies when needed
- Ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, inventory, and recipes
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety regulations
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
Salary:
1300$ per month
We welcome candidates from all nationalities who meet the above requirements. However, preference will be given to Indian chefs who are familiar with Indian cuisine.
