Preservation Architect
Our architecture firm in Shan is seeking a Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural design principles, as well as knowledge of building materials and construction techniques from different eras. The ideal candidate will have experience working on restoration projects and a passion for preserving cultural heritage.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on the history, design, and construction of historic buildings
- Create detailed preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of restored buildings
- Select appropriate materials and techniques for restoration projects
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for preservation projects
- Oversee construction work to ensure it meets preservation standards
- Document all aspects of the restoration process for future reference
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in restoration or preservation architecture
- Strong understanding of architectural design principles and building materials from different eras
- Knowledge of local regulations and guidelines for historic preservation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Salary: $1500 per month
City: Shan (Preference for Kenyan applicants)
