Crane Operator
As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of cranes in a safe and efficient manner. Your main duty will be to lift and move heavy materials and equipment at construction sites, ports, or other industrial settings. You will work closely with the ground crew and follow their instructions to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate different types of cranes such as mobile, tower, or overhead crane based on job site requirements
- Inspect and maintain crane equipment before and after use to ensure safety standards are met
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents or damage to property
- Communicate effectively with the ground crew to understand their needs and complete tasks efficiently
- Lift, move, and position heavy materials using hand signals or radio communication from the ground crew
- Keep accurate records of daily activities including material lifted, hours worked, maintenance performed, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts and inspecting cables for wear and tear
- Troubleshoot any technical issues with the crane equipment and report them to the supervisor for repair
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Valid crane operator license/certification (if required by local regulations)
- At least 2 years of experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting
- Knowledge of crane safety procedures, rigging techniques, load charts, and hand signals is essential
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis
- Comfortable working at heights and in different weather conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (knowledge of other languages is an asset)
- Availability for flexible work hours including weekends if required
- Valid work permit/visa for working in Mauren
Salary:
Starting salary is $1600 per month with potential for increase based on performance and experience.
