Head Pastry Chef



Our restaurant in Lisbon is seeking a talented and passionate Head Pastry Chef to join our team. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing our dessert menu, training and managing a team of pastry chefs, and ensuring the highest quality of desserts for our guests.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new dessert menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and current food trends
- Oversee the production of all pastries, cakes, and desserts for the restaurant
- Train, mentor, and manage a team of pastry chefs to maintain consistency in quality and presentation
- Maintain inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Ensure all desserts are prepared with attention to detail and meet our standards for taste, appearance, and portion size
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus that complement each other
- Adhere to food safety standards and maintain a clean work environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Knowledge of various pastry techniques including baking, decorating, plating, etc.
- Creative mindset with a passion for creating unique dessert experiences for guests
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in pastry arts
- 5+ years of experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Strong portfolio showcasing your dessert creations
- Proficiency in English (Portuguese is a plus)
