Interpreter (English-Portuguese)


As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services between English and Portuguese languages. This includes verbal and written communication in a variety of settings, such as business meetings, conferences, and medical appointments. You will need to have a strong command of both languages and be able to accurately convey meaning and tone in all forms of communication.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language between English and Portuguese in various settings
- Translate written documents from English to Portuguese and vice versa
- Ensure accuracy and clarity in all interpretations
- Research specialized terminology to prepare for interpreting assignments
- Maintain confidentiality and neutrality in all communications
- Adapt to different accents, dialects, and cultural norms
- Provide cultural context when necessary
- Communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds

Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (both verbal and written)
- Proven experience as an interpreter or translator
- Strong knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, spelling, idioms, colloquialisms, etc. in both languages
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to accurately interpret spoken words quickly
- Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations
- High level of cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Strong research skills for specialized terminology

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1600$ per month.

This job is located in Funchal.

Employment Type:
This is a full-time position.

Experience Required:
To be considered for this role, you must have at least 2 years of experience as an interpreter or translator.
