Preservation Architect Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Preservation Architect Assistant to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. As an assistant in this role, you will work under the supervision of a senior preservation architect to help preserve and restore historic buildings and structures.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with site visits and surveys to assess the condition of historic buildings and structures
- Conduct research on building materials, construction techniques, and historical context
- Help prepare reports and proposals for preservation projects
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop preservation plans
- Assist with the preparation of construction documents and drawings
- Monitor progress of preservation projects on-site
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and building codes

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field
- Previous experience in preservation architecture preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of architectural history, building materials, and construction methods
- Excellent research skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- A passion for preserving historic buildings and structures

Salary:
This is a part-time position with a salary of 1700$ per month.

Location:
This position is based in Funchal, Portugal. Accommodation can be provided for candidates who require it.
