Junior Accountant

We are hiring a Junior Accountant to join our growing team in Funchal. As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks and supporting senior staff members in financial operations. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited accounting experience.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Prepare and maintain financial documents, such as invoices and bank statements
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Process payroll and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Support senior accountants in preparing financial statements and reports
- Conduct basic financial analysis to identify trends or issues
- Stay updated on relevant tax laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information is shared

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
