Executive Pastry Chef in Funchal, Portugal


We are currently hiring an experienced and creative Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury hotel in Funchal, Portugal. As an Executive Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department and creating delicious desserts and pastries for our guests.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the pastry department including ordering, purchasing, and inventory management
- Create and develop new dessert and pastry menu items while also maintaining current offerings
- Ensure that all pastry dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs in techniques, recipes, and plating presentations
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus that complement each other
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to food safety regulations
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts preferred
- Knowledge of various baking techniques, ingredients, flavors, and presentation styles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team of pastry chefs
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique desserts and pastries that meet guest preferences
- Fluent English language skills (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Salary:
Salary for this position is $1400 per month. Additional benefits include accommodation, meals on duty, health insurance, and paid vacation.
