Entry-Level Librarian


A reputable library in Braga is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Librarian. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1700 per month. We are looking for someone who is passionate about books, organized, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with finding materials and provide information on library policies and procedures
- Organize and maintain library materials, including shelving books and cataloging new arrivals
- Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and increase community engagement with the library
- Manage circulation desk duties, such as checking books in/out, collecting fines, and issuing library cards
- Conduct research for patrons upon request using online databases and other resources
- Assist with collection development by recommending new materials for acquisition
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan and execute events such as book clubs or author talks
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and trends in the field of librarianship

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (preferred)
- Experience working in a library setting (preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
- Familiarity with online databases and other research tools

We offer a competitive salary of $1700 per month along with free visa sponsorship. This position does not include accommodation. Candidates must be eligible to work in Portugal.
