Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our growing team in Porto. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security, availability, and performance. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and experience with database management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain databases
- Monitor database performance and make necessary adjustments
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide solutions
- Ensure data integrity and security
- Backup and restore databases as needed
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database structures for new applications
- Plan for future expansion needs
- Document database processes and procedures
- Train and mentor junior database administrators

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Database Administrator
- Proficient in SQL and other database languages
- Experience with database management systems (Oracle, MySQL)
- Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security protocols, and disaster recovery procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Certification in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database Administration
- Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of data warehousing techniques

Salary: $1400/month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Porto, Portugal (no accommodation provided)
