Part-Time Librarian

As a part-time librarian in our library located in Porto, you will be responsible for providing assistance and support to library patrons, maintaining the organization of materials and resources, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This position requires someone with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for literature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating and checking out books, magazines, and other materials
- Answer questions and provide guidance on library policies and procedures
- Maintain the organization of library materials by shelving books and keeping shelves tidy
- Process new materials including cataloging, labeling, and inputting into the library system
- Assist with collection development by recommending new books or resources for purchase
- Participate in planning and implementing library programs or events
- Provide support to other library staff members as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library or customer service setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with people of all ages
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in using computer systems and technology
- Passion for literature and knowledge of current book trends
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position with an average of 20 hours per week. The schedule will vary based on the needs of the library but may include evenings and weekends.
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1800 per month.
