Temporary Assistant Chef

Our restaurant in Faro is seeking a Temporary Assistant Chef to join our team for the busy summer season. This position is perfect for students or individuals without prior experience who are looking to gain valuable skills and experience in a professional kitchen setting. As an Assistant Chef, you will work alongside our Executive Chef and kitchen team to assist with meal preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes. This is a fast-paced role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines provided by the Executive Chef
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies when necessary

Requirements:
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Team player attitude with a willingness to learn from experienced chefs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Salary: Starting at $1000/month (negotiable based on experience)
