Student Librarian


We are hiring a Student Librarian to assist with day-to-day operations of our library in Faro. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with checking in and out library materials
- Shelve books and maintain organization of library shelves
- Help patrons locate materials and answer basic reference questions
- Process new materials for circulation
- Assist with maintaining library equipment and technology
- Help plan and execute library events and programs
- Keep track of inventory and order supplies as needed
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as filing and data entry

Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at a university or college in Faro
- Passion for books, knowledge, and the role of libraries in society
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a library or customer service environment is a plus
- Knowledge of basic library classification systems is desirable but not required

Salary:
This is a part-time position paying $1100 per month.

Location:
This position is located at our library in Faro. Candidates must be able to commute to the library on their own.
