Academic Librarian


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Academic Librarian in Almada. As an Academic Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing research assistance to students and faculty, and developing programs and services to support the academic community.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the acquisition, cataloging, and organization of library materials
- Provide research assistance to students and faculty
- Develop and teach information literacy classes
- Collaborate with faculty to develop course-specific library resources
- Promote library resources and services through outreach initiatives
- Keep up-to-date with developments in the field of librarianship

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Knowledge of current trends in academic libraries

Preferred:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with library systems such as Alma or Sierra

Salary: $900 per month

Location: Almada, Portugal
