Head Chef


The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations in our busy restaurant located in Almada. As the Head Chef, you will lead a team of skilled and passionate cooks to create delicious and visually appealing dishes that meet the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, creating menu items, and setting food preparation and plating standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Lead a team of cooks by providing guidance, training, and support
- Develop new menu items that meet customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Create and implement food preparation standards to maintain consistency in taste and presentation
- Monitor food costs by minimizing waste and controlling portion sizes
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to lead a team effectively by providing clear direction and support
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and passion for creating unique dishes that meet customer expectations
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other team members

Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Food safety certification required
- Proficient in English (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1600$ per month for this full-time position.

Location:
This position is located in Almada, Portugal. We welcome applicants from all nationalities who have legal permission to work in Portugal.
