Back-End Developer


We are hiring a skilled Back-End Developer to join our team in Svalbard. As a Back-End Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side of our web applications. You should have experience in programming languages such as Java, Python or Ruby, and be familiar with database management systems.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain efficient and scalable server-side code
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Create and manage databases to ensure optimal performance and data integrity
- Troubleshoot and debug application issues on the back-end
- Implement security protocols to protect against cyber threats
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends

Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Back-End Developer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python or Ruby
- Experience working with database management systems (SQL, MySQL)
- Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Salary:
This is a contract job with a salary of 1600$. Accommodation will also be provided for the duration of the contract.

Location:
This position is based in Svalbard. While it is not a strict requirement for the candidate to be from Svalbard, preference will be given to candidates who are already located in Svalbard or are willing to relocate.
