Experienced Turner in Svalbard


We are seeking an experienced Turner to join our team in the beautiful city of Svalbard. As a Turner, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools to shape metal workpieces according to specifications. This is a physically demanding role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints or job orders to determine materials, dimensions, and tolerances of finished workpieces
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and mills to perform precision machining operations
- Adjust machine controls and tool settings as needed for each job
- Inspect finished workpieces for accuracy and make necessary adjustments as required
- Maintain equipment by regularly cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs
- Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure efficient production processes
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines at all times

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Turner or similar role
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Strong understanding of metal properties and machining techniques
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Salary:
The salary for this role is $1100 per month without accommodation. However, we offer competitive compensation packages based on experience level.

Location:
This position is located in Svalbard, a beautiful city known for its stunning landscapes and rich history. While living accommodations are not provided by the company, we can assist with finding suitable housing options.
