Preservation Architect
Our architectural firm in Svalbard is seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving historical buildings and structures while ensuring they meet modern building codes and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine necessary preservation work
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop preservation plans
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals for preservation projects
- Creating detailed preservation drawings and specifications
- Overseeing construction work to ensure it aligns with preservation plans and standards
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise
- Maintaining accurate documentation of all preservation work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Preservation Architect
- Knowledge of historical building codes and standards
- Experience in creating detailed drawings and specifications
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Salary: $1000/month (negotiable based on experience)
Note: This position includes a free visa and ticket for the selected candidate. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working in Svalbard or the Arctic region.
