Junior Accountant

As a growing accounting firm based in the beautiful city of Svalbard, we are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $1800 per month. This role is open to candidates of any nationality, but preference will be given to those with a valid biometric passport.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining financial records and preparing reports
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and file tax returns
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software programs (Quickbooks, Xero, etc.)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

While prior experience is not required for this role, some knowledge or coursework in accounting is preferred. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow within our company. Training will be provided on the job.
