Cashier - Part Time (Svalbard)


We are seeking a reliable and friendly Cashier to join our team on a part-time basis in Svalbard. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately and efficiently processing transactions. This position is suitable for individuals without previous cashier experience.

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with a positive and friendly shopping experience
- Accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions using electronic scanners, cash registers or POS systems
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions in order to inform customers and upsell products as appropriate
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional manner
- Ensure sufficient stock levels at the checkout area and restock as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, safety, and security

Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older with a valid work visa for Svalbard
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
- Previous experience as a cashier is not required but considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of other languages is an advantage)
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 20 pounds

Working Hours:
This is a part-time position with flexible working hours. The store operates from Monday-Saturday from 9am-9pm. Shifts will range from 4-6 hours per day.

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1700 per month.
