Temporary Executive Chef - Svalbard
Our restaurant in Svalbard is seeking a talented and passionate Executive Chef to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a unique location and showcase their culinary skills.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement menus that reflect the local culture and ingredients
- Manage inventory and ordering, ensuring high-quality and fresh ingredients are always available
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate them into menu development
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef or similar role preferred but not required
- Passion for cooking and creativity in menu development
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage kitchen staff
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of food safety regulations
- Ability to adapt to different dietary restrictions or preferences of customers
This is a temporary position with the potential for extension. Salary will be 1000$ per week. Accommodation is not provided, but assistance can be given in finding suitable housing. Candidates must have their own visa for working in Svalbard.
