Merchandiser for Retail Store in Svalbard


We are hiring a passionate and detail-oriented Merchandiser to join our team at our retail store in Svalbard. As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for ensuring that our store is visually appealing and well-stocked at all times. Your main duties will include creating attractive displays, organizing inventory, and monitoring sales trends.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create eye-catching displays to showcase our products and promotions
- Ensure that all merchandise is accurately priced and labeled
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify any discrepancies or issues
- Collaborate with the buying team to select new products for the store
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitors' offerings
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent customer service

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in merchandising or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in merchandising or retail sales
- Strong visual merchandising skills with a keen eye for design
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of current fashion trends and consumer behavior in the retail industry

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1100 per month, with potential for bonuses based on performance.

Accommodation:
As this is a full-time position, we provide accommodation for our employees. This includes a private room in shared staff housing.

Location:
Svalbard is an archipelago located in the Arctic Ocean, known for its unique wildlife, stunning landscapes, and extreme weather conditions. This position is based in one of its main towns, Longyearbyen.
