Caregiver for Elderly Residents in Svalbard


We are hiring a compassionate and responsible Caregiver to provide exceptional care for elderly residents in Svalbard. As a caregiver, you will assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders. You will also provide companionship and emotional support to promote their overall well-being.

Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication according to the prescribed schedule
- Monitor residents' health status and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with the residents
- Help with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying up common areas
- Accompany residents on appointments or errands outside of the facility when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor

Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a caregiver or in a similar role is preferred
- Valid certification in First Aid and CPR is required
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with elderly individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Compassionate nature and genuine interest in helping others
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Working Conditions:
This is a contract job without accommodation provided. The chosen candidate will be expected to work 30 hours per week on a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position is ideal for students seeking part-time employment while studying in Svalbard.

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1200 per month.

Location:
This position is based in Svalbard, an archipelago located between mainland Norway and the North Pole. While not strictly required, preference will be given to candidates who are already living in Svalbard or are willing to relocate.
