Junior Database Administrator

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Database Administrator to join our team in Oslo, Norway. As a Junior DBA, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's database systems. This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $900 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting with database design and implementation
- Regularly monitoring and troubleshooting database performance issues
- Ensuring data integrity and security
- Backup and recovery of databases
- Collaborating with developers to optimize SQL queries
- Implementing database upgrades and patches
- Developing and maintaining documentation for database processes and procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling
- Familiarity with database design principles and best practices
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java)
- Knowledge of database administration tools (e.g. Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred:
- Previous experience as a Junior Database Administrator or similar role
- Certification in database administration (e.g. Oracle Certified Associate)
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS)
