Preservation Architect
The Preservation Architect will play a crucial role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in Oslo, Norway. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architectural preservation and a strong understanding of historical building techniques and materials.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine necessary preservation and restoration work
- Develop preservation plans and design solutions that adhere to local regulations and historical preservation standards
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals on restoration projects
- Conduct research on historical building techniques, materials, and styles to inform preservation work
- Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications for restoration projects
- Monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to plans and regulations
- Regularly inspect completed projects to ensure long-term preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural preservation
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software
- Strong knowledge of historical building techniques, materials, and styles
- Familiarity with local regulations and historical preservation standards in Oslo
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting plans to clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on restoration projects in Norway or Scandinavia
- Certification in Historical Preservation or related field
Salary: 1600$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
