Junior Database Administrator

As a Junior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of databases in our organization. You will work closely with senior database administrators to ensure data security, integrity, and performance. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of database concepts and a passion for troubleshooting and problem-solving. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and configuration of databases
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups and updates
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Work with senior database administrators to develop and implement data security measures
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth functioning of databases
- Develop and maintain documentation related to databases
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong understanding of database concepts such as SQL, data modeling, and indexing
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL or Oracle
- Familiarity with database administration tools and techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills

Preferred:
- Previous experience as a database administrator or in a similar role
- Certification in one or more DBMS platforms
- Experience with cloud-based databases such as AWS or Azure
