Part-Time Librarian in Os, Norway


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Librarian to join our team on a part-time basis in Os, Norway. As the Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, assisting patrons with research and information requests, and maintaining the overall functionality of the library.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize, catalog, and maintain the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to access information
- Oversee the circulation of materials and ensure they are properly checked out and returned
- Maintain the library's online catalog system and ensure accuracy of records
- Develop and implement programs and services to promote literacy and encourage library use
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan events and activities for the community
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in library services and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements:
- Degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working as a librarian or in a similar role is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist patrons of all ages
- Knowledge of library cataloging systems and digital resources
- Familiarity with current technology used in libraries such as online databases and e-readers
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
