Preservation Architect
Location: Bergen, Norway
We are seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Bergen. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. Your main responsibilities will include conducting site surveys, preparing reports and proposals, designing preservation plans, and overseeing the implementation of restoration projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to assess the condition of historical buildings and structures
- Prepare reports and proposals outlining preservation strategies and recommendations
- Design preservation plans that take into consideration the structural integrity, historical significance, and aesthetic value of the building or structure
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the successful implementation of restoration projects
- Oversee construction work to ensure it meets preservation standards and guidelines
- Conduct research on materials, techniques, and methods used in historical construction for accurate restoration
- Maintain accurate documentation of all preservation activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Strong knowledge of historical architecture styles, materials, techniques, and preservation guidelines
- Excellent design skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other architectural software
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong communication skills
Salary: $1400 per month
