Preservation Architect

We have an immediate opening for a Preservation Architect to join our team in Bergen, Norway. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving historical buildings and structures by implementing restoration and conservation plans. Your main duties will include conducting site surveys, preparing reports and proposals, collaborating with clients and contractors, and overseeing the preservation process from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to assess the condition of historical buildings and structures
- Prepare reports outlining the current state of the building and recommended preservation measures
- Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and vision for the preservation project
- Develop restoration and conservation plans in accordance with local regulations and historical guidelines
- Work closely with contractors to ensure that all work is carried out correctly and according to plan
- Oversee the preservation process from start to finish, including monitoring progress, addressing any issues that arise, and ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintain accurate records of all preservation activities

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in preservation architecture or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of historical building materials and construction techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines for historic preservation projects
