Executive Chef Assistant
Our five-star restaurant in Bergen is seeking a talented and passionate Executive Chef Assistant to join our team. This is a temporary position, perfect for recent graduates looking to gain valuable experience in the culinary industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow as a chef. As an Executive Chef Assistant, you will work closely with our Executive Chef to assist in creating and executing delicious and innovative dishes that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. From assisting with menu planning to preparing ingredients and cooking alongside our talented team, you will play an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing
- Prepare ingredients for cooking according to recipes and portioning requirements
- Cook dishes as directed by the Executive Chef or sous chefs
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to established standards of quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Train junior kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Passion for food and desire to learn from experienced chefs
- Culinary school diploma or degree preferred, but not required
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment
Salary: $1200/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Bergen (open to all nationalities)
