Executive Chef
As an Executive Chef at our upscale restaurant in Bergen, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation and presentation, and managing a team of kitchen staff. Your creative culinary skills and leadership abilities will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menu offerings to reflect seasonal ingredients and current food trends
- Oversee food preparation and ensure that dishes are consistently prepared to high standards
- Train and manage kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques and sanitation practices
- Manage inventory levels and ordering of supplies to maintain cost efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events or promotions
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen area at all times
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to create visually appealing dishes while maintaining high quality standards
- Degree or certification from a culinary school is preferred
- Valid food handling certification
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $900 per week (negotiable based on experience)
